Maelric is a devoted paladin of Haelyn, god of Nobility and Valor. He is pure-hearted, although his devotion and eagerness to action can sometimes be interpreted as arrogance. He has joined Omer in his quest for the Blood Collector, believing this artifact will bring the peace on Cerilia.
He hired Ulff and Alkirsta as bodyguards to reach Muden. He looks Eyie with an interested eye, and don't really trust Wilhem, the Wavebreaker.

After the tragic accident that caused Alkirsta's death, he abandoned his paladin cause, and embraced magic research to find a way to bring Alkirsta back from the dead. He left the group to find a suitable mentor...
